Most offices have janitorial services for carpet cleaning. While Janitorial cleaning services are great for routine, they don't clean well as professional carpet cleaners would clean. Much like brushing your teeth, and going to the dentist - you need both for proper maintenance. One without the other will eventually cost you a lot more to repair the damage.
For your everyday maintenance, janitorial cleaning is certainly recommended. But, every few months - you should get a periodical carpet cleaning to renew and rejuvenate your carpets. We, at Carpet Cleaning Baltimore, know the value of carpet cleaning. We meet unmaintained carpets every day, costing their owners much more than it should have if they were cleaned routinely.
Both janitorial services and periodical carpet cleaning are required to keep your office carpets clean and in good shape. Especially in high traffic areas, a good hot water extraction cleaning, and a deep shampoo cleaning would do wonders to the looks of your busiest office areas.
The janitorial cleaning is focused on “on the surface” cleaning. It usually includes vacuuming, wiping, and window cleaning. It really depends on the location, the setup and what is required. Janitorial services are usually given on a regular schedule. Depending on the amount of traffic, it ranges from weekly schedule to daily schedule, but in some cases can be constant services onsite (in a high traffic mall or similar). Most office spaces receive daily janitorial services, which is great to keep and maintain the cleanliness of the workplace (which is also healthier, but that will be discussed later).
Commercial carpet cleaning focuses on an “under the surface” kind of cleaning. The purpose of commercial carpet cleaning is to get deeper into the carpet and get all the soil and residue out of them, remove stains left by different substances, and freshen up the whole look, feel and smell of the carpets. Commercial carpet cleaning is done every few months or weeks, but in high traffic areas, it should be done every week or on a bi-weekly basis.
You can't have one without the other. Well, you can. But it won't be very effective. If you take only commercial carpet cleaning, you'll end up with a lot of soil, dirt and other substances accumulating on your carpets between cleaning appointments. That's not very good for business. Having a dirty carpet when a customer walks in probably won't make him want to buy anything.
On the other hand, if you go only with janitorial cleaning services, you'll get clean carpet on a regular basis. However, after a while the vacuuming won't be enough. The carpets will start to look dull, and the carpet itself will wear out. If anybody spills a coffee or anything, that stain will stay there. It takes more than just vacuuming to get rid of a coffee stain.
